As of Thursday afternoon, the AJC found more than 170 signed Todd Gurley items on ebay, most of which had been authenticated, according to the sellers. They include jerseys, football, helmets and photos.

One seller was seeking $435 for a No. 3 jersey signed by Gurley with the inscription “Go Dawgs.” Another was asking $400 for a signed full-size helmet with the same message. Both show that they were authenticated by JSA, one of the leaders in that field.

More than 200 signed Gurley jerseys were authenticated by JSA and given certificates of authenticity numbered in sequence, according to that company’s web site. That, memorabilia experts said, means the jerseys were provided by a single person and not random autograph seekers.

The company’s owner, Jimmy Spence, has declined to say who paid to have the items authenticated.

Also on ebay Thursday:

  • A JSA-authenticated helmet signed by Gurley and fellow UGA running back Keith Marshall offered for $349.99.
  • Two mini-helmets and a football signed by Gurley and Marshall, also authenticated by JSA.
  • Three footballs signed by Gurley and coach Mark Richt and one signed by Gurley, Richt and quarterback Hutson Mason. These items do not appear to be authenticated by JSA.
