The Dogwood Invitational amateur golf tournament will include two players from Augusta State, which defeated Georgia to win the NCAA men's golf championship on Sunday. The tournament will be held at Druid Hills Golf Club. Representing the Jaguars, the two-time defending national champs, will be Derek Chang and Taylor Floyd.
Several players from the runner-up Bulldogs will also compete: Russell Henley, Bryden MacPherson, Keith Mitchell and Nicholas Reach.
Georgia Tech, which was defeated by Augusta State in the first round of match play in the NCAA tournament, will have seven players competing: Anders Albertson, fall enrollee Drew Czuchry, Paul Haley, Oliver Schniederjans, Kyle Scott, Richy Werenski and James White. Also competing will be Matt Nagy, who plays for Kennesaw State, which qualified for the NCAA tournament for the first time but didn't make it past the stroke-play portion.
Eight more players are expected to be added this week and eight more will qualify on June 27. The tournament will be held June 29-July 2.
