The SEC finally released the league schedule on Tuesday and there wasn’t a lot for Georgia to get excited about.
The Bulldogs face their most intriguing opponents on the road and have a relatively bland slate of home games. Georgia opens at Missouri on Jan. 8 and has rival Florida (Jan. 14) and Kentucky (Jan. 25) both on the road early in the season. The Bulldogs also do not have a home game against Tennessee, instead playing the Vols one time on the road (Feb. 18).
Georgia’s home lineup includes Alabama, Arkansas, South Carolina, Vanderbilt, LSU, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Missouri and Mississippi State.
The Bulldogs haven’t announced their non-conference schedule yet as they continue to finalize opponents. But they are known to have at least eight dates set. They play home games against Wofford (Nov. 8), Georgia Tech (Nov. 15), Lipscomb (Dec. 14) and Western Carolina (Dec. 21). They play road games against Davidson in Charleston, S.C., on Nov. 21 (the first of three games in Charleston Classic) and against George Washington in Washington D.C. on Jan. 3.
The Bulldogs return three starters from last year’s 15-17 squad (9-9 SEC) but lost would-be-junior Kentavious Caldwell-Pope to the NBA draft lottery. Forward Nemanja Djurisic (7.9 ppg) and guard Charles Mann (6.7) are the leading returning scorers.
They also add three freshman signees (J.J. Frazier, Kenny Paul Geno and Juwan Parker) and a junior college transfer (Cameron Forte).
