Devine trying to win playing time at guard

Georgia Tech line coach Mike Sewak said he can see backup guard Shamire Devine earning playing time behind starters Trey Braun and Shaquille Mason. Sewak praised Devine for his improved footwork, but said the 6-foot-7, 365-pound redshirt freshman’s stamina needed to continue to improve his stamina and leverage. … Tech is just one of 11 FBS teams without a quarterback with at least one career start. Two of the others are also in the ACC – Virginia Tech and Louisville. … Tech has played Wofford only once previously in school history, a 33-0 win in 1901. The game was played in Augusta.
