Statesboro High School football star DeAngelo Tyson lives in an apartment at the Joseph Home for Boys after his mother left him in the care of state authorities.

Tyson, a defensive lineman who's 6-foot-2 and 304 pounds, gets plenty to eat. He's expected to sign with UGA on national signing day Wednesday.

Tyson, the oldest resident of the group home, acts as a big brother to some of the other children.

Tyson spends the later part of his day answering phones in at the Statesboro High School office.

Tyson jokes with Statesboro High School instructional Coordinator Karen Cantini. He says staying at the boys home has "made me a better person."
