Georgia Tech had its ninth and 10th players honored as ACC players of the week at their respective position groups, wide receiver DeAndre Smelter and linebacker P.J. Davis

It’s Smelter’s first such honor and Davis’ second. Smelter had five catches for 77 yards and a touchdown in the No. 22 Yellow Jackets’ 28-6 win over No. 19 Clemson on Saturday. In the game, he passed 1,000 receiving yards, becoming the 21st Tech player to reach that milestone. Averaging 19.2 yards per reception on 53 career catches, Smelter ranks fifth all-time among Tech players in that category.

Davis led Tech with 13 tackles, his second double-digit tackle game and one tackle short of his career best. It was the first time Clemson had not scored a touchdown in a game since a 13-3 Tech defeat of the Tigers in 2007. Davis, a sophomore, is 10th in the ACC in tackles per game at 8.2 per game.

The 10 player-of-the-week citations are the most for Tech since at least 2004.
