Creekside High linebacker Khatavian Franks announced his decision to accept Georgia Tech’s scholarship offer Wednesday morning, taking one of the final spots available in the 2020 signing class.

Franks, a teammate of Tech signee Tyson Meiguez, made an official visit to Tech this past weekend. He previously committed to Louisville, but withdrew his commitment Nov. 23. He also had offers from Virginia Tech, Pittsburgh and Boston College, among others.

He had kept his decision private until Wednesday, when he and Franks signed their letters of intent at Creekside.

Franks, 6-foot-2 and 205 pounds, is a three-star prospect rated the No. 92 prospect in the state of Georgia by 247Sports Composite.

Franks, Meiguez and Khaya Wright from Miami are the three linebackers in the class.

Donald Trump's administration deployed the military to Washington, D.C., in the name of fighting crime, and in an Aug. 11 news conference he mentioned the possibility of military being sent to other large American cities, all of which are led by Black, Democratic mayors.
