Defensive tackle Connor Hansen knew from the beginning of recruiting that he wanted to be a Yellow Jacket and according to Hansen, Tech knew they wanted him too.
Hansen said Tech stuck with him through every part of the recruiting process, so when Tech extended an offer in June, it only took Hansen two days to accept.
“At the time (Tech coaches) came by and looked at me I was weighing 328 pounds, I was 6-foot-2 and I could run a 5.2 (40-yard dash,)” Hansen said. “They loved the speed I have and they watched me play in my spring game and also when I went to their camp.”
For Hansen, each member of Tech’s signing class has a special reason why Tech coaches offered them a scholarship and Hansen can name most of the reasons off the top of his head.
As for Hansen, a 6-foot-2, 325 pound senior at Lawton Chiles High School in Tallahassee, Fla., the reason Tech chose him is his agility.
“They like how quickly I can pull,” Hansen said. “I can take my body and I can stay low to the ground. That something that (safeties coach and recruiting coordinator Andy) McCollum said he really enjoyed in watching in my film.”
