College football bowl gifts for 2014-15

According to SportsBusiness Daily/Journal at least $5.4M will be spent on gifts given to the 2014-15 college football bowl game participants.

According to SportsBusiness Daily/Journal at least $5.4M will be spent on gifts given to the 2014-15 college football bowl game participants. The NCAA allows each bowl to award up to $550 worth of gifts to 125 participants per school. Among this year's top give away are audio equipment, clothing and gift cards (including to Chick-fil-A from Peach Bowl sponsors). But the list doesn't end there:

Peach Bowl: Dec. 31, 12:30 p.m., ESPN, in Atlanta: In addition to a $300 Visa gift card and a gift card to Chick-fil-A, Ole Miss and TCU players will also receive an Apple TV for playing in the New Year's Eve game.

Belk Bowl, Dec. 30, 6:30 p.m., ESPN, in Charlotte, N.C.: Georgia and Louisville players will receive a shopping trip to a Belk department store along with a Fossil watch.

Russell Athletic Bowl, Dec. 29, 5:30 p.m., ESPN, in Orlando, Fla.: Clemson and Oklahoma players will receive a shopping trip, watch and athletic performance shirt.

Camellia Bowl, Dec. 20, 9:15 p.m., ESPN, in Montgomery, Ala.: Members of Bowling Green and South Alabama will leave the Camellia Bowl with a commemorative pylon.

Texas Bowl, Dec. 29, 9 p.m., ESPN, in Houston: Players for Texas and Arkansas will receive a belt buckle - a traditional gift - along with a sports duffel bag and other items.

Quick Lane Bowl, Dec. 26, 4:30 p.m., ESPN, in Detroit: The Quick Lane Bowl, which is run by the Detroit Lions, will be providing each player from Rutgers and North Carolina a custom-made Fathead with the player’s likeness. Fathead is based in Detroit.

Hawaii Bowl, Dec. 24, 8 p.m., ESPN, in Honolulu: In adition to traditional Hawaiin shirt, Rice and Fresno State will receive a beach towel. (Picture may not be representative of actual gift.)

Alamo Bowl, Jan. 2, 2015, 6:45 p.m., ESPN, in San Antonio: Kansas State and UCLA players will receive a new GoPro Hero4 Silver camera among other items which include a panoramic shot of San Antonio.

Military Bowl, Dec. 27, 1 p.m., ESPN, in Annapolis, Md.: Christmas comes two days late for Virginia Tech and Cincinnati teams, which will receive an XBox One along with other itesm, courtesy of the Military Bowl

Holiday Bowl, Dec. 27, 8 p.m., ESPN, in San Diego: Gift cards to Best Buy are a popular item with four games handing out cards valued from $150 to $447. Players from Nebraska and USC will get cards for $445.

Pinstripe Bowl, Dec. 27, 4:30 p.m., ESPN, in Bronx, N.Y.: Pinstripe Bowl sponsor New Era will be doling out a gift package of their products to members of Boston College and Penn State teams.
