Georgia Tech A-back Clinton Lynch is expected to play in Saturday’s game against Jacksonville State after missing the season opener Monday against Tennessee with a lower-body injury. Defensive tackle Kyle Cerge-Henderson, who left the Tennessee game with a leg injury, may play as well.

Lynch practiced Wednesday, coach Paul Johnson said after the day’s practice.

“It’ll be good to get somebody as experienced as him back,” Johnson said. “He’s played a lot of football so he gives you another man in the rotation.”

Having another A-back in the rotation for Saturday’s game would be particularly helpful, as Tech will be playing on short rest and played 96 offensive snaps late Monday evening. The Yellow Jackets rotated three A-backs against the Volunteers, Nathan Cottrell, J.J. Green and Qua Searcy.

Cerge-Henderson was on crutches after the game, but may be available.

“I think Kyle thinks he’s going to play,” Johnson said.

If Cerge-Henderson can’t play, or plays a limited number of snaps, backup defensive tackles Brentavious Glanton and Brandon Adams could get more playing time.
