Harrison Butker bounced back from missing two field goals against Notre Dame to kick a 52-yard field goal that gave Georgia Tech a 3-0 lead in the first quarter against Duke on Saturday. The Yellow Jackets would lose 34-20, falling to the Blue Devils for the second consecutive season.

Butker, a junior from Decatur, missed kicks of 30 and 43 yards in last week’s 30-22 loss to the Fighting Irish in South Bend, Ind.

The field goal against Duke was his first successful kick this season and the second-longest of his career, behind the 53-yard kick that sent last year’s game against Georgia to overtime.

He added a 48-yard field goal in the third quarter to cut Duke’s lead 19-13 with 7:07 left.

Butker also put his first kickoffs against the Blue Devils into the end zone for touchbacks.
