Georgia assistant coach Glenn Schumann tweeted out there was going to be some March Madness for the Bulldogs. Yep, that was a good way to describe 4-star QB Carson Beck choice to commit to the G on Sunday afternoon.

Beck is the reigning Mr. Football in the state of Florida. He was once committed to Alabama and was badly wanted by Dan Mullen and the Gators.

But he’s now on the way to Georgia. The nation’s No. 3 QB prospect shared the news via his Twitter account.

Beck rates as the nation’s No. 62 overall prospect for 2020 on the 247Sports Composite rankings. Offensive coordinator James Coley and new Georgia assistant coach Todd Hartley were very instrumental in the quick turn of events regarding the latest prospect to commit to Georgia.

The UGA class now stands at five pledges for the 2020 cycle. Justin Robinson, a 4-star WR from Eagles Landing Christian, also chose the Bulldogs on Saturday.

The Mandarin High (Jacksonville, Fla.) standout was expected to choose the Gators. Florida had 86 percent of the predictions on the 247Sports “Crystal Ball” feature heading into the visit.

He’s known for his athleticism and ability to see the whole field during the play. While not a dual-threat, he’s good enough to buy time with his legs or move the chains by escaping for a first down.

Most of the scouting opinion on Beck revolves around an advanced understanding of the game.

This was a whirlwind courtship as he picked up his UGA offer back on Feb. 27.

Beck threw for 3,500 yards and 39 touchdowns last season while leading his Mustangs to their first state title in program history.
