Georgia Tech guard Chris Bolden is in what coach Brian Gregory described as “a holding pattern” following his six-game suspension at the end of the season. Gregory added that Bolden, a junior, is being held out of developmental workouts that began this week.

Bolden was suspended Feb. 19 for a violation of the school’s student-athlete conduct policy. He did not travel with the team to the ACC tournament in Greensboro, N.C., and would not have played in the Yellow Jackets’ second-round game had they won in the first round, even though his suspension would have been over.

“He’s taking care of his academics, and we’re probably going to look at what’s best for him and the program probably in the coming weeks,” Gregory said.

Bolden played his best season this year, averaging 6.9 points per game. His field-goal percentage of 41.0 percent and 3-point field-goal percentage of 32.6 percent were the highest of his career. He started in 11 of 25 games. If Bolden were to leave Tech, it would leave the team with a second open scholarship for the 2015-16 season.
