Bohannon hires Gilliland to coach KSU’s QBs and B-backs

May 27, 2013

Kennesaw State football coach Brian Bohannon has hired Brett Gilliland to be quarterbacks and B-backs coach.

Gilliland has spent the previous three seasons at Georgia Southern, where he worked with the B-backs in 2010, tight ends and tackles in 2011 and wide receivers last year.

Gilliland spent three years as a graduate assistant (2006-08) and then offensive assistant (2009) at Georgia Tech, where he worked with Bohannon.

Gilliland is Bohannon’s sixth hire, joining offensive coordinator Grant Chesnut, A-backs assistant Tim Glanton, yet-to-be-assigned assistants Liam Klein and Shane Bowen. Jay Bailey was also hired as director of football operations.

Gilliland played quarterback at West Alabama (2000-03), where he graduated as the school’s career passing leader (6,689 yards).
