Tomon Fox is a defensive tackle from Collins Hill who was won over by North Carolina and defensive coordinator Gene Chizik.

Three things to know about Fox, who also was joined by Tyrone Hopper of Roswell and Luke Elder of LaGrange among Georgia signees by the Heels:

1. Turning down bigger programs: A versatile athlete who did a little bit of everything for Collins Hill this season, Fox committed to North Carolina at The Freak Show, the Tar Heels' recruiting extravaganza. He chose coach Larry Fedora's program over big names such as Notre Dame, Auburn and Tennessee. Fox also said Chizik played a role in decision to pick the Tar Heels.

2. QB nightmare: Fox recorded 114 tackles, 29 for loss, including 12 sacks. He lived in opponents' backfields, recording 34 quarterback hurries. He also had an interception, four forced fumbles and two block kicks.

3. Nose for the ball: Fox led Gwinnett County with 13 sacks as sophomore.
