The Kennesaw State men’s basketball team will play Georgia Tech, Indiana, Mississippi State, Cincinnati, Florida International and conference-foe Florida Gulf Coast, which made the Sweet 16 in last season’s NCAA tournament, in the coming season as part of a challenging schedule, which was released Wednesday.

The Owls, under coach Lewis Preston, are trying to improve upon last season’s 3-27 record.

The Owls will open the season Nov. 8 in a five-team, four-day tournament at the KSU Convocation Center. The event will include Youngstown State, Eastern Kentucky, Warren Wilson and Florida International.

Kennesaw State will then play at Mississippi State on Nov. 14. The Owls will play at Cincinnati on Nov. 29 and at Georgia Tech on Dec. 16. The Owls defeated the Yellow Jackets 80-63 the last time they met, in 2010.

Kennesaw State will play at Indiana, which also made the Sweet 16 last season, on Dec. 22.

The Owls will open play in the Atlantic Sun Conference on Dec. 30 at North Florida.
