Two high-scoring offenses will face off when No. 7 Auburn meets No. 12 University of Central Florida in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl on Jan. 1 in Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Auburn (10-3, 7-1), beaten by Georgia in the SEC championship also played at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, is averaging 34.4 points per game, 25th most in FBS, and a lock-down defense allowing an average of less than 20 points per game.

No team has scored more points than UCF (12-0, 8-0), champions of the AAC, with an offense that averaged an FBS-best 49.4 points per game.

An interesting subplot will be if both coaches will be on the sidelines. Scott Frost has already agreed to leave UCF to coach his alma mater, Nebraska, but is supposed to coach the Knights in the bowl game. Auburn’s Gus Malzahn is rumored to be Arkansas’ top target.
