Despite the bad news that Al Horford has been lost to a torn right pectoral muscle, the Hawks did get a measure of good news regarding DeMarre Carroll Friday.

Carroll suffered a right thumb sprain in the fourth quarter of Thursday’s game against the Cavaliers. According to the Hawks, x-rays done Thursday in Cleveland and Friday in Atlanta revealed no fracture or ligament damage. The starting forward is listed as day-to-day.

John Jenkins remains out as he continues to deal with nerve pain in his left leg. Jenkins missed Thursday’s game when the condition flared up. Jenkins, his agent and Hawks management are discussing the next course of action as they try to resolve the back-related issue that has plagued Jenkins since the summer.

If Jenkins is out for an extended period of time, the Hawks could re-call guard Jared Cunningham from the NBA Development League.
