Retired Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson was spotted at Miami Dolphins training camp on Monday, And no, he’s not planning on coming out of retirement.
The former Georgia Tech star visited his former coach Shawn Jefferson, now the wide receivers coach for the Dolphins, according to a report by NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
Jefferson was the wide receivers coach for the Lions from 2008-12.
In his 13-year NFL career, Jefferson played wide receiver for the San Diego Chargers, New England Patriots, Atlanta Falcons and Detroit Lions. Jefferson’s stint with the Falcons was from 2000-02.
Johnson has not attended Lions training camp this year amid reports that he was not treated well on the way out by his former team when he retired at the end of the 2015 season.
The Lions organization has been vocal about attempts to reconcile with Johnson including an invitation from Lions president Ron Wood for Johnson to attend the team's training camp ahead of the 2017 season.
