The Atlanta Braves will recognize C.W. Matthews Contracting Company and the Georgia Department of Transportation before the Braves’ Wednesday night matchup with the Toronto Blue Jays at SunTrust Park.

Representatives from C.W. Matthews Contracting Company will be presented on the field alongside Georgia Department of Transportation Commissioner Russell McMurray for their efforts in reconstructing I-85 after its collapse in March. Employees from C.W. Matthews Contracting Company will also take part in Braves’ traditions like Starting the Chop on Wednesday.

“All of metro Atlanta was impacted by the I-85 bridge collapse, and we wanted to show our appreciation and gratitude for the tireless efforts of the C.W. Matthews Contracting Company and the Georgia Department of Transportation to get Atlanta moving again,” Atlanta Braves President of Business Derek Schiller said in a statement released by the Braves. “We hope coming out to a ballgame will offer some much-deserved time off for the construction team and their families.”

The Braves announced they will also celebrate the re-opening of I-85 by offering fans a special ticket price of $8.50 and below for five games during the Braves’ nine-game homestand. The available games for the special prices are on May 17-18 against the Blue Jays and May 22-24 against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Seats are available on the Braves’ website and will be in the 300 and 400 levels.

Wednesday’s game against the Blue Jays is scheduled to begin at 7:35 p.m.
