Blake Griffin was just as surprised in his trade to the Detroit Pistons on Monday night as all NBA fans.
The Los Angeles Clippers traded Griffin to the Pistons along with Brice Johnson and Willie Reed on Monday night in exchange for Tobias Harris, Avery Bradley, Boban Marjanovic and a first-round and a second-round draft pick, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported.
In reaction to the trade, Griffin— who was in his eighth season with the Clippers — tweeted out a GIF of a surprised Will Smith from “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.”
Wojnarowski reported the trade talk between the Clippers and Pistons began six days ago, but sped up in the past 24 hours and framework for a deal had been done since early Monday afternoon.
