Who are the 2013 Hawks?

The Hawks' 2013 revamped roster includes a few returning players and some additions via trade and free agency.

Atlanta's Mike Budenholzer is one of nine new coaches this season in the NBA. Budenholzer, a longtime assistant with the San Antonio Spurs, replaced Larry Drew at the helm of the Hawks. Budenholzer was part of four NBA championship teams (1999, 2003, 2005 and 2007) and serving as the head coach for two different teams in Denmark's Vejle league. He is one of numerous new faces with the Hawks.

Al Horford, F/C, 6-foot-10, 250 pounds: The Hawks' elder statesman, Horford was the 3rd overall pick by Atlanta in the 2007 draft. The two-time All-Star had career highs in points (17.4) and rebounds (10.2) per game last season. Horford's contract expires at the end of the 2015–16 NBA season.

Jeff Teague, G, 6-foot-2, 181 pounds: The 19th overall pick by the Hawks in 2009, Teague has averaged 4.0 assists and 9.0 points per game. Teague, who was a restricted free agent this offseason, was headed to Milwaukee before the Hawks signed him to a 4-year deal.

Lou Williams, G, 6-foot-1, 175 pounds: Williams grew up in Snellville. A 2nd round draft pick by Philadelphia in the 2005 NBA draft, Williams signed with the Hawks in 2012, but must most of the season with an ACL tear in his right knee. He averaged 14.1 ppg in 39 appearances last season. There is no timetable for the guard's return.

Dennis Schröder, G, 6-foot-1, 168 pounds: The Hawks made Schröder the 17th overall pick in the 2013 draft, Schröder played two seasons for Germany's Phantoms Braunschweig club, averaging 12.8 points and 4.6 assists per game.

Paul Millsap, PF, 6-foot-8, 258 pounds: The 47th overall pick in the 2006 draft by the Utah Jazz, Millsap signed a two-year deal with the Hawks in July. In seven seasons Millsap averaged 12.4 points, 7.0 rebounds and 1.0 blocks per game.

Kyle Korver, G/F, 6-foot-7, 212 pounds: The Hawks acquired Korver via trade from Chicago in 2012. Re-signed by the team in July, Korver averaged 10.9 points, 2.0 assists and 4.0 rebounds per game last season.

Mike Scott, PF, 6-foot-8, 237 pounds: Scott was drafted by Atlanta 43rd overall in the 2012 NBA Draft. He played in 40 games last season, averaging 4.6 points and 2.8 rebounds per game.

Cartier Martin, F, 6-foot-7, 220 pounds: Martin has played in 161 games for Charlotte, Golden State and Washington since 2008. Martin also has played in Italy and China since leaving Kansas State in 2007. He has averaged 5.4 points and 2.1 rebounds in his time in the NBA.

Shelvin Mack, G, 6-foot-3, 207 pounds: A 2nd round pick in 2011 by the Wizards, Mack played in 20 games for the Hawks last season when he shot .400 beyond the arc.

John Jenkins, G, 6-foot-4, 215 pounds: Jenkins was drafted by the Atlanta with the 23rd pick in 2012. Jenkins appeared in 61 games last season, averaging 6.1 points and 1.5 rebounds.

Jared Cunningham, G, 6-foot-4, 195 pounds: Cunningham was a 1st-round draft pick by Cleveland in 2012 who was then traded to Dallas. He averaged 2.0 points in 8 games for the Mavericks who then traded Cunningham to Atlanta during the NBA Draft for other considerations.

DeMarre Carroll, F, 6-foot-8, 212 pounds: The 27th overall by the Memphis Grizzlies in the 2009, Carroll has played in 173 games for Memphis, Houston, Denver and most recently Utah. Carroll, who signed with the Hawks in August, averaged a career-best 6.0 ppg last season.

Gustavo Ayon, PF/C, 6-foot-10, 250 pounds: Ayon has played in the NBA the last three seasons after stints in leagues in Mexico and Spain for 7 years. The All-Star Mexican center was signed by the Hawks in July and has suited up for Milwaukee, New Orleans and Orlando.

Pero Antic, PF/C, 6-foot-11, 260 pounds: Antic has played in Europe since 1999. Originally from Macedonia, Antic is a captain on the Macedonian national team. He was last a member of Olympiacos, a Greek professional basketball team that won the Euroleague title two years in a row.
