Atlanta hip-hop star Gucci Mane took the court at halftime during the Hawks-Pelicans game Tuesday at Philips Arena to perform for the crowd.

But it was his fourth-quarter appearance on the "Kiss Cam" that drew the biggest applause.

Gucci and girlfriend, Keyshia Ka’oir, appeared on the video board as the crowd egged them to kiss. Instead, Gucci had a surprise for all. He refused to lean in for a kiss, and stood and opened a box:

Gucci was released from prison in May after serving three years for assaulting a fan who wanted to take a picture with him.
