Headed into his third run, United State’s snowboarder Shaun White was in second place Tuesday night behind Japan’s Ayumu Hirano with a score of 95.25.
What happened next was gutsy.
White recorded a near-perfect 97.75 on his final run which included consecutive 1440s and earned his third Olympic gold medal in the men’s halfpipe.
