BOSTON -- The Hawks have been shorthanded for a while, and that will continue when they face the Celtics Friday in Boston.

Trae Young, the driving force behind the Hawks’ offense, is out with a right ankle contusion (he got hit in ankle in the fourth quarter of the win in Minnesota Wednesday). Young was able to go through shootaround Friday morning, but wasn’t feeling well enough to play that night.

The Hawks will also be missing Cam Reddish (concussion), Bruno Fernando (left calf strain) and DeAndre’ Bembry (right hand neuritis). The players they recently acquired at the trade deadline, Clint Capela, Dewayne Dedmon and Skal Labissiere are not available yet (trade pending/not with team).

In total, the Hawks have nine bodies available to play vs. the Celtics, with two of those players on two-way contracts (Brandon Goodwin and Charlie Brown Jr.).

The Celtics aren’t perfectly healthy, either, with Jaylen Brown (right ankle sprain), Gordon Hayward (left foot soreness) and Daniel Theis (right ankle sprain) out.
