Recent Hawks draft picks

A look at some memorable and forgotten draft picks in Hawks history. Some have been dubious, some have helped the team, and some have gone on to help other teams.

The Hawks drafted Michigan State's Adreian Payne with the 15 overall pick in 2014. He was traded to Minnesota his rookie year.

The Hawks selected guard Dennis Schroder from Germany with the 17th overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft.

Al Horford was the third overall pick in 2007.

Priest Lauderdale was a first-round pick of the Hawks in 1996. He was 7 feet 4 inches tall and weighed 325 pounds. He played 35 games in a Hawks uniform.

Josh Smith was the 17th overall pick in 2004 and blossomed into one of the NBA's top players. He signed with Detroit in 2013.

Jeff Teague was a first round pick in 2009.

Jason Terry was the 10th overall pick in the 1999 draft.

Marvin Williams, a forward from North Carolina, was chosen by the Hawks as the second overall pick in 2005.

Josh Childress of Stanford was chosen by the Hawks in the first round of the 2004 NBA Draft.

Atlanta took Boris Diaw in the first round in 2003.

Pau Gasol was picked by the Hawks as the third overall selection in 2001 but his rights were traded to Memphis.

Cal Bowdler of Old Dominion was one of four Hawks first-round picks in 1999.

Travis Hansen was a second-round pick in 2003.

Doug Edwards of Florida State was Atlanta's first-round pick in 1993.

Hawks 1995 draft picks Donnie Boyce left of Colorado and Alan Henderson of Indiana pose for photographers. Henderson was taken in the first round, Boyce in the second.

Shelden Williams of Duke was chosen by the Hawks as the fifth overall pick of the 2006 NBA Draft.

The Hawks took Roshown McLeod of Duke University in the first round in 1998.

Ed Gray (with ball) was a first-round pick in 1997.

DeMarr Johnson was a first-round pick in 2000.

John Jenkins was a first-round pick in 2012.

Atlanta also took Mike Scott of Virginia in 2012, in the second round.

Second-round pick Keith Benson was Atlanta's only selection in 2011.

Acie Law was picked in the first round in 2007.

Dion Glover of Georgia Tech was one of four first-round picks in 1999.

UGA standout Jumaine Jones was one of four first-round picks by the Hawks in 1999
