How the game was won: The Pistons started by making 10 of their first 11 shots and built a lead the Hawks fought all night to overcome. They managed brief leads in the second and third quarters before the Pistons went on a decisive run in the second half. Andre Drummond had 22 points and 13 rebounds for the Pistons. Thabo Sefolosha had 19 points for the Hawks.

Turning point: The Pistons went on a 13-2 run after the Hawks substituted their entire starting lineup with 7:18 remaining, the fourth time they changed all five players at once.

Number: 11-0. The Pistons scored 11 straight points between the third and fourth quarters to break open a tie game and take a lead they would not relinquish.

Next: The Hawks ended a stretch of four games in five nights. They next host the Nets on Saturday.
