Former NBA All-Star Dan Roundfield has drowned while swimming off the Caribbean island of Aruba.

Former Atlanta Hawks star Dan Roundfield (right) drowned while swimming off the Caribbean island of Aruba. Aruba police spokesman John Larmonie says Roundfield and his wife were caught in strong currents Monday, Aug. 6, 2012, while swimming beyond a protected reef area on the southeastern tip of the island. Roundfield helped his wife to safety but then the current swept away the 59-year-old former player.
