Hawks first-round draft pick Adreian Payne had seven points and seven rebounds for Fort Wayne in a 97-89 loss at Erie Friday night in an NBA Development League game.

Payne was sent to Fort Wayne for weekend games after not appearing in the Hawks’ first 10 games of the season.

Payne came off the bench and was 2 of 10 from the field, including 0 of 3 from 3-point range. He also had two assists and two turnovers in 29 minutes. He was a plus-4 for the game.

Payne will play again for Fort Wayne Saturday night. The current plan is for him to return to the Hawks following that game.
