NBA Finals: Cavs win Game 5, avoid elimination

Cleveland defeated Golden State Monday to force a Game 6 in the best-of-seven NBA Finals.

The Cleveland Cavaliers avoided elimination and forced a Game 6 in the NBA Finals with their 112-97 victory over the Golden State Warriors Monday.

LeBron James scored 41 points in the victory.

Kyrie Irving added another 41 points, the first time in NBA Finals history that teammates scored 40-plus points in the same game.

Klay Thompson led the Warriors with 37 points, including six 3-pointers.

Two-time MVP Stephen Curry added 25 for the Warriors.
