Despite having four All-Stars, no Hawks player received a vote in NBA Most Valuable Player voting.
The Warriors’ Stephen Curry won the award, the league announced Monday. The guard had 1,318 total points with 100 of 130 first place votes from a panel of sportswriters and broadcasters.
The rest of the top five vote-getters were the Rockets’ James Harden (936 points, 25 first-place votes), the Cavaliers’ LeBron James (552 points, five first-place votes), the Thunder’s Russell Westbrook (352 points) and the Pelicans’ Anthony Davis (203 points).
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution does not vote on postseason awards as a matter of newspaper policy.
Al Horford, Paul Millsap, Jeff Teague and Kyle Korver were all named to the All-Star team in the Eastern Conference in February and participated in the exhibition game in Feburary.
Also receiving MVP points were the Clippers’ Chris Paul (124), the Trail Blazers’ LaMarcus Aldridge (6), the Grizzlies Marc Gasol (3), the Clippers’ Blake Griffin (3), the Spurs’ Tim Duncan and Kawhi Leonard (1) and the Warriors’ Klay Thompson (1).
