Joe Smith out for Hawks' game vs. Toronto

Dec 10, 2009

Hawks forward Joe Smith will miss the team's Friday game against Toronto with a dislocated thumb. Othello Hunter, who has been inactive since the start of the season, will dress for the game against the Raptors.

It is possible he could play Sunday in the Hawks' home game against New Jersey.

Smith dislocated his left thumb in the Hawks' win over Chicago Wednesday night at Philips Arena. Thursday, Smith received treatment on the thumb while the team practiced. Smith's absence will be the first time that a Hawks player has missed a game due to injury this season.
