Hawks to work out Portis, Dekker

Arkansas power forward Bobby Portis will have a pre-draft workout with the Hawks on Friday.

Portis worked out for the Wizards on Monday. He told the Washington Post that he has worked out for 10 teams and will also visit the Hawks and Bucks. The visit in Atlanta is scheduled for Friday.

Portis, 6-foot-11, 246 pounds, played 36 games for Arkansas last season and averaged 17.5 points and 8.9 rebounds in 29.9 minutes.

In addition, Wisconsin small forward Sam Dekker worked out for the Hawks Monday, according to Basketball Insider’s Alex Kennedy. Dekker, 6-9, 219, played 40 games for Wisconsin last season and averaged 13.9 points and 5.6 rebounds in 31.0 minutes.

The Hawks hold three picks in the NBA Draft next week. They are scheduled to select 15th (first round) and 50th and 59th (second round).
