Hawks point guard Jeff Teague was a nominee for Player of the Week in the Eastern Conference for the week of Oct. 28-Nov. 2.
The award in the East went to the Heat’s Chris Bosh, who averaged 25.7 points (third in the conference), 11.3 rebounds (third in the conference), 4.0 assists and 1.3 steals. Bosh led the Heat to the East’s lone perfect week at 3-0. He led the team in scoring, rebounding and minutes in all three games and had two double-doubles.
The Warriors’ Klay Thompson won the award in the Western Conference. He led the league in scoring at 29.7 points per game. He scored a career high 41 points on 14 of 18 shooting in a 127-104 win over the Lakers.
Teague leads the Hawks (1-1) in scoring through their two games with 22.5 points a game. He is also averaging 7.0 assists, 3.5 rebounds, 3.0 steals and 1.0 blocks.
Other nominees for the week were the Nets’ Joe Johnson, Bulls’ Pau Gasol, Cavaliers’ LeBron James and Kevin Love, Clippers’ Blake Griffin, Grizzlies’ Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph, Pelicans’ Anthony Davis, Knicks’ Carmelo Anthony, Kings’ DeMarcus Cousins and Rudy Gay, Raptors’ DeMar DeRozan and Wizards’ John Wall.
