A brief recap of how the Hawks won their 13th consecutive game to pull within one of the franchise record:

How the game was won: Mike Scott tied his season-high with 20 points off the bench, and Paul Millsap matched that as the Hawks overcame an enormous rebounding disparity to end the Pistons' seven-game road winning streak.

Paul Millsap and Kyle Korver (13 points) each made three 3-pointers, but for the first time in nine games, Atlanta (9 of 30) did not make at least 10 long-range shots for the ninth consecutive game.

Turning point: After taking a 44-41 halftime lead despite being outrebounded 35-20 and failing to pull in a single offensive rebound, the Hawks' lead was whittled to 60-59 on a 3-pointer by former Hawk Anthony Tolliver with 2:34 left in the third quarter. Moments later, Thabo Sefolosha rebounded an Al Horford miss and passed to Scott. A 3-pointer — his 10th, 11th and 12th points of the period — gave Atlanta a 63-59 lead that was barely threatened.

Number: Minus-19. When was the last time the Hawks, or any team, won despite being outrebounded 61-42?

Next: The Hawks will host the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday night in the second game of a seven-game homestand.
