The Hawks will have three first-round picks in the 2018 draft.

The Timberwolves secured a playoff berth with a victory over the Nuggets on Wednesday and thus will send the lottery-protected pick to the Hawks via a 2015 trade. The pick will be No. 18 or No. 19 overall, depending on the result of a tiebreak between the Timberwolves and Spurs that is decided by a random drawing of ping-pong balls.

The Hawks also own their pick in the lottery, which will be no lower than seventh, plus Houston’s first-round pick, which is No. 30 overall. The Hawks acquired Houston’s pick in a 2017 trade.

The Hawks also have their own second-round pick. It will be No. 33 or No. 34 overall, depending on the order of the the Hawks and Mavericks picks in the first round.

The Hawks acquired the lottery-protected pick from Minnesota in February 2015 in exchange for Adreian Payne. The Hawks selected Payne with the No. 15 overall pick in the 2014 draft out of Michigan State.
