The Hawks finished with the fifth-worst record in the NBA, but they have a better chance to pick first through fourth or sixth, seventh or eighth than to pick fifth.

According to the percentages, the Hawks’ highest likelihood is the No. 7 spot, with the No. 6 spot offering the second-greatest chance.

The Hawks are 12 times more likely to pick seventh than fifth, 8.9 times more likely to pick sixth than fifth and four times more likely to pick eighth and fifth.

The better news is that Hawks are 4.77 times more likely to move up to either first, second, third or fourth than to pick fifth.

The Mavericks’ first-round draft choice will become the Hawks’ pick unless it falls in the top five of the round. The odds are 46.4% that the choice will be the No. 9 pick and 24.3% that it will land at No. 10.
