A recap of the Hawks’ ninth straight win, in which they rallied from a 12-point third-quarter deficit to beat the Magic:
How the game was won: Paul Millsap scored 14 of his game-high 23 points in the second half, when the Hawks snapped to life in the middle of the third quarter and went on to win their ninth straight game.
Al Horford scored 12 of his 17 in the first half, when Atlanta scored a season-low 11 points in the second quarter, and then the Hawks found their shooting stroke in the second half, when they drained eight of their total nine made 3-point shots.
Turning point: Trailing 57-45 midway through the third period, the Hawks closed the period on a 19-7 run that included two 3-pointers by Millsap, another by DeMarre Carroll and yet one more by Al Horford. Carroll added a three-point play in that stretch as Atlanta worked its way back to a 64-all tie at the end of the period.
Number: 50. The Hawks shot 50 percent from beyond the 3-point arc in the second half, making 8-of-16, after going 1-for-13 (7.7 percent) in the first half.
Next: The Hawks will get another shot at the Magic Saturday, in Orlando, before a home game Monday against the Bulls.
