The Hawks surprised students at Miller Grove High School with an open practice Thursday.

Coaches led the team through a series of drills before conducting a scrimmage in front of the student body as part of the school’s spirit week.

The Hawks were also at Miller Grove to honor Sharman White, recently named USA Today’s National Coach of the Year for 2014 after he led the school to its sixth consecutive state championship last season.

The Hawks will return to practice Friday before departing for Memphis to play the Grizzlies in an exhibition game Saturday. The game will not be on local television or radio.
