Hawks-Clippers Quoteboard

What they said after the Hawks’ 107-97 win over the Clippers Saturday night:

"I think a good road win for us against a team that's been playing very well. I think a lot of guys played well individually. I think defensively, after taking a huge punch in the first quarter, to come out in the second, third and fourth quarters to find a way to play pretty good defense. Offensively, to have some consistency. For four quarters we were able to score and be somewhat efficient. Different guys made big shots and big plays. Both Jeff (Teague) and Dennis (Schroder) played well at the point guard. Paul (Millsap) with 18 rebounds. Just a lot of positives from tonight. Hopefully we can continue this." – Hawks coach Mike Budenholzer's opening statement

"To beat a team that is playing as well as they have been, I think this was good for our group. We needed a good, quality win, especially on the road. To finish it on a run and execute down the stretch and get stops down the stretch, it's a huge key in our league." – Budenholzer on win

"I thought he was great on both ends. He set the tone for us defensively on Chris Paul in the pick-and-rolls and offensively in attacking the basket. A couple of situations where he was taking handoffs and getting to the basket quickly. It was just a very good game from Jeff." – Budenholzer on Teague

"I would say for the most part. He was 7 for 17 (from the free-throw line) for the game. He went through a stretch there where he hit three or four in a row. You think about pulling it off but we stuck with it. It helps change the rhythm of the game a little bit and gives our guys a break. They just got such a good team, sometimes it's the lesser of two evils." – Budenholzer on fouling DeAndre Jordan

"It's a good team win. We played well as a group. One through 13 came out and played well." – Jeff Teague on win

"Percentages catch up. Very rarely do teams go four quarters shooting at that clip. They were like 50 percent in the first quarter. That comes down to the 40's. We just stayed the course. Valiant effort by everyone on both ends. We picked up our aggression and met them with force, trapping Chris Paul and Jamal Crawford. Just making it tough on everyone." – Kent Bazemore on difference after first quarter.

"This was nice. We've been looking for this kind of break for a while. To be able to win last night and then get a really good quality win against a Clippers team, we are definitely pretty happy with it." – Al Horford on win

"We needed to make some adjustments. We were a little passive and let them do whatever they wanted. Finally, we were like 'You know what? If we are going to go down, we are doing to do down like we play.' We just picked up the pace and started to be more aggressive. I think Jeff and Dennis did a good job of starting to turn things around for us." – Horford on difference after first quarter

"It does a lot. Last night was a good win for us but tonight was a good quality win for us. This was a win we definitely needed. Hopefully, it's a momentum boost as we go into a tough game in Utah and a tough game in Toronto." – Paul Millsap on win

"It was effective tonight. Overall, it has not been effective. I thought they did a good job. Every time they had a lead, they used it and that is the way it is supposed to (be done). I thought it was effective. In each quarter they tried to do it and it hurt us a little bit." – Clippers coach Doc Rivers on Hack-a-Jordan strategy
