Hawks 97, Bucks 86

How the game was won: The Hawks turned up their defense after a dismal post All-Star break return in a loss to the Raptors Friday. They took an early lead on the Bucks and then used a strong start to the fourth to take back control of a game they nearly let slip away. Paul Millsap led six Hawks in double-digit scoring with a game-high 23 points. He added 16 rebounds.

Turning point: The Hawks went on a 17-4, to end the third and start the fourth quarter, to regain control of a game they nearly let slip away. The Hawks led by as many as 16 points in the first half. The Bucks roared back and tied the game, 64-64, with 53.3 seconds left in the third quarter. The Hawks went on the decisive run, sparked by three Kyle Korver 3-pointers.

Number: 25. Turnovers forced by Hawks, a season-high.

Next: The Hawks host the Mavericks on Wednesday.
