The Hawks have assigned Lamar Patterson to the NBA Development League. The rookie guard/forward was assigned to the Austin Spurs via the league’s flexible assignment rule. Patterson will play for the Spurs tonight, along with Hawks teammate Edy Tavares. His initial stint is expected to last only several games

Patterson, a 2014 second-round draft pick, has appeared in seven of the Hawks’ 10 games. He has averaged 2.4 points, 1.3 assists and 1.0 rebounds in 13 minutes.

The Hawks recently assigned Tavares to the D-League and he will also play for the Austin Spurs Friday and Saturday. Austin hosts the Texas Legends today and travels to the Oklahoma City Blue on Saturday.
