The Hawks assigned center Mike Muscala to NBA Development League affiliate Fort Wayne Sunday. He will play for the Mad Ants when they host Austin at 5 p.m.

This will be the third D-League assignment for Muscala as the Hawks continue to take advantage of the schedule to get their young players playing time. In his two previous assignments, Muscala played in three games and averaged 15.0 points, 9.7 rebounds, 1,0 assists and 1.0 blocks in 27.3 minutes.

Muscala could return to be available for Tuesday’s game against the Cavaliers. However, Fort Wayne also hosts Oklahoma City Tuesday and Thursday.

Muscala, a second-round pick last season, has appeared in nine games for the Hawks this season. He is averaging 4.8 points and 2.2 rebounds in 9.3 minutes.
