A brief recap of how the Hawks took a lead in their first-round series against the Nets:

How the game was won: DeMarre Carroll scored 19 of his 24 points in the first half and Jeff Teague scored nine of his 20 in the fourth quarter, when the Hawks survived a stout late challenge from the Nets to take a 3-2 series lead. Every Atlanta starter scored in double figures, and Atlanta closed the game on a 10-2 run.

The Hawks led 82-70 after three quarters, but Brooklyn began the period with a 9-0 run and former Georgia Tech star Jarrett Jack scored 12 of his 18 points in the quarter as the Nets pulled within a single possession seven times.

Al Horford went for 20 points and 15 rebounds.

Turning point: The Hawks never trailed, but they led just 90-89 in the fourth quarter when Teague made a step-back 3-pointer at the 4:24 mark, and 97-95 before Horford hit a jumper at 1:32 to expand the margin to multiple possessions.

Number:5. Atlanta committed five of its 11 turnovers in the fourth quarter, allowing the Nets to stick around with eight points off those miscues.

Next: The Hawks and Nets will meet Friday night for Game 6 in Brooklyn.
