How the game was won: The Hawks built a 23-point first-half lead and held off several Pistons second-half rallies as they closed to within nine points several times. Each time the Hawks went on a mini-run to keep a comfortable advantage. Al Horford scored 19 points, including 11 in the third quarter, and had 16 rebounds for the Hawks. The Pistons rallied and closed to within four points in the final two minutes. 105-101, before the Hawks held on.

Turning point: The Pistons pulled to within nine points, after trailing by as many as 23, in the third quarter. Horford converted a three-point play and a jumper for five straight points to push the lead back to double digits.

Number: 54.5. Hawks shooting percentage from 3-point range (6 of 11) in the first quarter as they built a 13-point lead.
