Report card
Offense: C
The 20 first-quarter points were not good, especially shooting 30 percent (6 of 20) from the field and 10 percent (1 of 10) from 3-point range. The 33 third-quarters points were very good, especially after the Celtics scored seven straight points to start the quarter. Korver was in foul trouble but the Hawks turned to the point guard tandem of Teague and Schroder and it help. Millsap has to be better. The Hawks failed to score on key possessions down the stretch, including have three shots blocked and three turnovers after the game was tied for the final time at 96-96.
Defense: D
The Celtics had a huge home-court advantage from the start and scored 37 first-quarter points. However, it was the 32 fourth-quarter points that were the difference. Thomas was nearly unstoppable and the Hawks sent him to the free-throw line 15 times. Guarding the paint and slowing Thomas were keys for the Hawks and they hurt them in both areas. The Celtics got some key offensive rebounds.
