The Hawks announced a sellout crowd of 19,203 for Friday night’s win over the Thunder. It was the sixth announced sellout in the past eight games for the franchise.

Hawks coach Mike Budenholzer led his postgame press conference with remarks about the spirit of the Philips Arena crowd.

The players have taken notice as well.

“It’s a beautiful thing,” Jeff Teague said. “I always said if you put a good product on the court, they will come out and support. That is what we are doing right now. They are coming out full-throttle.”

Even opposing players have commented – maybe with a slightly back-handed remark.

“Their home crowed has gotten better,” Thunder said Kevin Durant said. “I guess they’ve jumped on the bandwagon. The crowd was great tonight. They helped them out.”

The Hawks have announced increases in television viewership and attendance over last season. The team moved up to 22nd in the NBA in average attendance at 16,400 per game as they have won a franchise-record 15 straight.
