The NBA issued a flop warning against Clippers guard J.J. Redick for a play that occurred during Wednesday night’s win over the Hawks at Philips Arena.

With 2:45 left in the second quarter, Redick received a pass outside the 3-point line. Hawks forward Kent Bazemore ran at Redick, who stepped around and inside the line, took a shot with his split his legs in the air and stumbled upon landing. The shot was an air ball.

Bazemore was called for a foul on the play. It appeared Bazemore got a piece of Redick’s jersey in chasing past but it occurred well before the shot attempt.

According to the NBA, the flopping rule states that players may not commit any physical act that, following review, reasonably appears to be intended to cause the game officials to call a foul on another player.

Redick receives a warning for the first offense. He would receive a $5,000 fine for a second violation on an escalating scale on penalties.

Redick is the eighth player to receive a flop warning this season, including the Hawks’ Paul Millsap for a game at the Rockets on Dec. 29.
