The Braves have lost twice to the Phillies in five games, with both losses coming in extra innings.

Mike Foltynewicz’s solid start went to waste with the Braves dropping a 5-1 game to the Phillies in the 10th inning Tuesday at SunTrust Park.

The teams went to extras tied at 1. The Phillies scored four times off Braves reliever Jose Ramirez, who allowed five runs against the Cubs on Saturday in his last outing.

Here’s what the Braves said after the loss, their third loss to Philadelphia in the last 10 meetings.

Manager Brian Snitker

On the bullpen issuing leadoff walks:

“We dodged that bullet the whole night. We got some big double plays, but we were lucky with all the walks we had all night, to stay in that ballgame like we did.”

Is it growing more concerning?:

“A little bit, yeah. Guys did a great job fighting through them. They got double plays when they needed. But yeah, you just can’t expect to be real successful if you’re going to go out there and – the leadoff walks, things like that. The four-pitch walks. It’s rough. At some point that’s going to bite you.”

Even excluding Saturday’s meltdown, when the bullpen walked five and hit two Cubs in the eighth inning?:

“Yeah. They’re getting out of it, but it’s one of those things, you keep pushing the envelope and it’s not going to be good. It’s something they go to work in the video room, whether it’s mechanical or mental or whatever. We’ll work to get it right. These guys are too good, too solid to put themselves in that position.”

On Ender Inciarte’s three-hit night:

“Swinging the bat good, did last night. This guy, he’s one of four guys in the history of the Atlanta Braves to have 200 hits. He’s one of them. He’s going to hit. So that’s why it’s good to get him a couple days blow over the weekend. He’ll be fine.”

On Foltynewicz’s six innings of one-run ball:

“It was good, really good. The last two games, it’s been real encouraging what we’ve seen. To his credit, he kept the game in check and never gave in. Made pitches when he had to. Either a groundball or strikeout, he kept us in the game, gave us a chance.”

Starter Mike Foltynewicz

On his start:

“It was a fun start. Fastball command wasn’t really there but it had great life on it. Had to rely on the slider most of the game and later in the innings. Then in that fifth and sixth I think I finally slowed down a little bit. I was just getting kind of too fast in the first four innings. Just really energized, it’d been six or seven days since I’d been out there. But it was a fun outing. I’m glad I got to get out of those jams with (four) double plays, great defense. Just kept my team in it.”

On getting four double plays:

“Sometimes luck’s on your side. But at the same time, you keep practicing it, executing a certain pitch. That’s why you’re watching video on some of these guys, certain situations, and you execute pitches to get them double plays in certain situations. But yeah, that’s a lot of hard work, homework going into it. So it’s exciting to see sometimes that luck’s on your side. Those go hand-in-hand. It’s great to see that.”

On surviving erratic command:

“The change-up wasn’t really there today, even though I threw some really, really good ones. The fastball wasn’t there until later, the fifth or sixth inning. I rely on my slider a lot there even behind in counts. Try to get 3-1 back to 3-2 and so forth. I pride myself that we had at least one pitch we could’ve thrown in there for a strike. Fastball wasn’t working early, but effective enough at the end there to put them away.”
