The Braves will carry relievers Wes Parsons and Josh Tomlin, along with outfielder Matt Joyce, to Philadelphia for opening day (Thursday).

Parsons, who was yo-yo’d between the majors and minors last year, only made one appearance. The 26-year-old had a fabulous spring, producing 10 scoreless outings while striking out 17 against one walk (15 innings).

“The way he handled the spring, how he came in so determined, he had a monster spring, really,” manager Brian Snitker said. “He was really good.”

Tomlin recently joined the team as a veteran long-relief option. He’s holding fort with the Braves being short-handed because a bevy of less-concerning injuries.

Joyce joined the Braves a few days ago, his third team in a week. The 34-year-old is a career .250 hitter and at least temporarily fills in as the Braves’ fourth outfielder.

“As of right now we’re taking him to Philadelphia, and unless something happens with trades or whatever, he’ll be on (the 25-man roster),” Snitker said.
